Lorraine E. Palma
Lorraine E. Palma, 92, passed away on January 11, 2018, in Weirton, West Virginia.
Lorraine was born on February 22, 1925, to Elide and Marco Brighenti. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Domenic J. Palma; brother Chester Brighenti and her sisters Lillian Marziale, Yole Miceli, Wilma Malinowski and Marie Orwasky.
She graduated from Weir High School in 1942 and married Domenic J. Palma on September 6, 1952. They enjoyed immensely traveling to visit their children and grandchildren in Wheeling, Michigan and Hawaii.
Lorraine enjoyed summer picnics with her sisters and their families and social events with her sorority sisters in Beta Sigma Phi. After raising her children, she became a successful real estate agent until she was 82.
Known for being an excellent cook and hostess, she was considered an angel by many. She will be remembered for her big heart, radiant smile and fun-loving, caring ways. She delighted in giving gifts.
She was the cherished mother of Mark Palma of Weirton; LaVaughn Palma-Davis (Michael) of Brighton, Michigan; and Robert Palma (Kyoko) of Honolulu, Hawaii. Beloved grandmother of Anthony Palma, Missy Yaeger, Erin Davis-Bork, Kenta Palma and Leila Palma and favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Dennis Schuelkens Jr., will officiate.
Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Weirton.
