William A. Serafini, Sr., 91, of Steubenville, died Wednesday November 22, 2017, at Valley Hospice.
He was born February 15, 1926, in Steubenville. He is the son of the late Carmine and Carmella Ginnetti Serafini.
William is also preceded in death by his wife, Flora DeSantis Serafini on January 26, 2017, his brothers, Oreste and an infant Gugliemo and a sister, Pia Antonucci.
William was a member of the former St. Anthony Catholic Church, and its Men’s Club, now Triumph of the Cross Catholic Church. He was retired as a captain from the Steubenville Fire Department and from J.C. Penney’s.
William was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Steubenville Alumni Club of the Alpha Phi Delta fraternity.
Surviving are his son, William A. Serafini, Jr. and his daughter, Sharon (Michael) Dichazi both of Steubenville; two grandchildren, Jennifer (Chad) Glasbrenner and Michael Dichazi; and two great grandchildren, Reagan and Olivia Glasbrenner.
Calling hours are Sunday, 1-4 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Nau as celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be a vigil service Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
