Brock Budash

BUDASH, Captain Brock Richard, 34, of McDonald, Pennsylvania, went home to heaven on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016.

A Marine, loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and Godfather, he was born Dec. 21, 1981, in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of Richard and Beverly (Wagner) Budash of Steubenville, Ohio.

Brock graduated from Steubenville High School, class of 2000. He went on to enlist in the United States Marine Corps on Oct. 28th, 2001.

For the past 15 years he proudly served our country.

During his time as an active duty Marine he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He was currently pursuing his Doctorate Degree from Robert Morris University.

Brock served as a flight line mechanic while at HMLA-169 at Camp Pendleton, California. During his time at HMLA-169 he deployed to Iraq on three separate occasions, the initial invasion of Iraq, OIF 2, and OIF 5-7. After which he re-enlisted as a Sergeant, and became an instructor as the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT). During this time he earned his title of Master Training Specialist and was promoted to Staff Sargent.

On March 26th, 2010 he graduated from OCS earning the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He then was stationed back in California at Miramar Air Station at VMFA 232, the oldest fighter squadron in the United States Marine Corps. During his time at 232 he deployed to Iwakuni, Japan. He then went on to serve as the AAMO at MALS-11.

During his time at MALS-11 he earned the Rank of Captain on April 1st, 2014. In 2015 Captain Budash began what has now become his final duty with the Marine Corps Officer Selection Team Pittsburgh, PA. He was a decorated Marine earning multiple achievement and commendation medals.

Brock is preceeded in death by his sister, Amanda Budash.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving, dedicated wife of 12 years, Maria (Henry) Budash, whom he married May 15, 2004; his grandmother, Rose Budash; brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Sarah Budash; sister and brother-in-law, Courtney and Josh Bracone; father-in-law, Todd Henry; sister-in-law Katherine Kendjorsky; brothers-in-law, Aaron Henry and Christopher Henry; as well as his nephews and nieces, Cayden Bracone, Olivia Kendjorsky, Jaden Rusnak, Zoe Rusnak, MaKayla Turner; goddaughter, Ava Budney; godchildren, Bella and Joey Kalapala, Ethan, Ayden, and Ashton Ley.

Brock will also be sadly missed by his companion dog, Martin and his dog Mia. His love of life and positive spirit will live on in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched. Semper Fidelis.

Friends and family will gather for visitation Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Mingo Junction, Ohio, from 3-8 p.m. There will be a vigil service at 8 p.m.

Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Mingo Junction at 10 a.m.,  Friday, Oct. 28, with Fr. James M. Dunfee, celebrant and Fr. Vinny McKieran, co-celebrant.

Full military honors and burial will take place on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, at 2:30 p.m. at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, CA.
