Mildred Leggett

LEGGETT, Mildred M. Butterfield, 93, of Perrysville died Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at her home.

Born Sept. 3, 1920, in Perry Twp., Carroll Co., she was a daughter of the late George and Mary Coffy Butterfield.

Mildred was valedictorian of Perrysville High School Class of 1938 and attended Canton Business School. She was an office worker for various companies including Scio Livestock Auction and she and her husband, Jerry Leggett, owned and operated Mil-Jer Farms.

Mildred was a devoted lifetime member of the Perrysville United Methodist Church, belonging to the United Methodist Women and holding various offices.

She was also a member of the WCTU and Carroll Co. Farm Bureau. She enjoyed being outside swinging on her porch swing but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Surviving are her daughter, Connie Leggett who resided with her and was her caregiver; her son, Vance (Sandy) Leggett of Perrysville; grandchildren, Julie (Seth) Halfhill of Orrville and Michael (Miranda) Leggett of North Canton; great-granddaughter, Amelia Leggett; several nieces and nephews and special caregivers, Deb, Lola, Barb and Tracy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry G. Leggett on May 24, 2011. They were married Feb. 14, 1946. Also preceding her in death are her older siblings, Wilbur and Harry Butterfield and Pearl Barnhouse.

Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Perrysville United Methodist Church with Pastor Edward Hale officiating.

Burial will follow in Perrysville Cemetery.

Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Koch Funeral Home, Scio.
