Robert Raymond Fouts, 83, of Toronto, OH, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, at the Laurels of Steubenville, OH.
He was born April 23, 1931, in Steubenville, OH, the son of the late Raymond and Mabel (King) Fouts.
Robert was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Toronto; Toronto American Legion Post 86; was retired from the Signode Steel Corporation of Weirton, WV; and served his country during the Korean War with the Army 82nd Airborne.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Charles Fouts in 1958 and Jack Fouts in 2009; and sister Dorothy Fouts in 2003.
Robert is survived by his wife, Dorothy K. (Craven) Fouts; daughters, Deborah A. (William) Sloane of Toronto, OH, and Alicia K. (Jeff) Gruber of Centerburg, OH; grandchildren, Robert W. (Amy) Faulkner of Sunbury, OH, and Christina M. (Mike) Robinette of Gloucester, VA; great-grandchildren, Owen, Abigail and Adam Faulkner, Maverick Garcia, and Addison and William Robinette; sister-in-law, Denise Fouts of Toronto, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation hours for Robert will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 12 at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto (740) 537-1234 or (855) 847-1240.
A celebration service of Robert’s life will be held 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin Rinkes officiating.
There will be full military honors at the funeral home before services on Thursday by the Toronto American Legion Honor Guard.
Interment will take place at a later date at the Toronto Union Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
