Mary Casinelli, 83, of Follansbee, WV, passed away on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2014, at Weirton Geriatric Center.
She was born on October 29, 1930, in Follansbee, WV, a daughter of the late John and Concetta (Ranaldi) Martino.
Mary retired from Brooke County Board of Education where she worked in food service administration for 30 years.
She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society and was one of the oldest members of the Sisters of the Garibaldi. Mary was a loving mother and grandmother and loved to bake for everyone.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Elio Casinelli; a granddaughter, Angela Marie Casinelli, on August 22, 2013; seven brothers, Robert, Nino, Dino, Ralph, Victor, and Anthony Martino; and two sisters, Helen Freeman, and Dora Morris.
Mary is survived by four children, Robert (Heather) Casinelli, Follansbee, WV, Consilia (Alan) Koerber, Elkhart, Ind., Elio (Cheresh) Casinelli, San Francisco, CA, and John (Lisa) Casinelli, Follansbee, WV; one brother, John (Margaret) Martino, Follansbee, WV; six grandchildren, Selena (Brian) Kantar, Elio Casinelli, Anamaria Casinelli, Dante Casinelli, John Anthony Casinelli, Leo Casinelli; one great-granddaughter, Isabella Kantar.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, and again from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, at the Mullenbach Funeral Home, 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Msgr. Paul Hudock as celebrant.
Vigil services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Follansbee, WV.
