Ina Mae Schiappa, 77, of Wintersville went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Trinity West.
She was born September 9, 1936, in Follansbee. She is the daughter of the late Orie and Virginia Mozingo Davis.
Preceding Ina in death are one daughter, Carla Schiappa-Strupe; two sisters, Winifred Bedford and Lois Martin; also her former husband, Carlo Schiappa.
Surviving are two sons, Brion (Annia) Schiappa of New Rumley, OH, and Christopher (Deana) Schiappa Sr. of Wintersville; one brother, Charles (Lavonne) Davis of Belvedere; two sisters, Eloise (Phil) Buford of Bethsesda, MD, and Sarah “Sally” Martin of Follansbee; four grandchildren, Christopher, Jr. and Carlo Schiappa, Lexie McClure, and Beau Burger.
Ina Mae lived her life as a devoted Christian. She graduated from the College of Steubenville with a Bachelor of Arts in English and earned a master’s degree in School Counseling from the University of Dayton.
She was retired from the Jefferson County Board of MRDD where she was a Vocational Evaluator, was a member of the Weirton Senior Center, and Red Hat Society.
Ina’s grandchildren were the love of her life and she enjoyed every moment that she spent with them.
Calling hours are Sunday 2-5 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville.
Mass will be celebrated Monday at noon at Holy Rosary Church, Fr, Tom Nau celebrant.
Burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
