Ernest S. Carey

CAREY, Ernest S., 86, of Steubenville, OH, passed away May 6, 2014, in Steubenville, OH.

He was born January 13, 1928, in Mt. Pleasant, OH, son of the late Albert W. Carey and Cleotta Smith Carey.

A graduate of Steubenville High School; employed in the Clerical Department in the Blast Furnace of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel; a member of St Peters Catholic Church; Honorably discharged from the United States Army; four years in the United States Air Force and an eight year member of the Big Red Booster Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Charles Carey and a sister, Mae Carey West.

Surviving are his wife, Charlotte Smith Carey of 51 years of Steubenville; two daughters, Charlene (Christopher) Cybator of Pittsburgh, PA and Sandy Carey of Colorado; one son, Ricardo Carey of Colorado; one grandchild, Hayley Cybator of Pittsburgh, PA; and brother, Clem Carey of Mingo Junction. Ohio.

Friends will be received Friday, May 9, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at the Vinson House of Mortuary. Services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 9 a.m. at St. Peters Church, with Father Tim Huffman.

Services entrusted to Vinson House of Mortuary.
