Christopher Robert Jeffrey, 43, of Canonsburg, formerly of Eldersville, died Wednesday, May 14, 2014, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born November 14, 1970, in Washington, a son of Wayne and Janet Strope Jeffrey of Eldersville.
He was a 1988 graduate of Burgettstown High School, a 1992 graduate of W&J College with a degree in psychology, and a 1994 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a masters degree in rehabilitative counseling.
Mr. Jeffrey was employed by Paula Teacher of Pittsburgh as a behavioral specialist consultant, for FamilyLinks of Pittsburgh as a support coordinator, for CHARTE Center of Squirrel Hill, for HD Connect of Washington, and the Bears Club of Meadowlands.
He was an avid reader, favoring Civil War and World War II books and a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. According to his brother, Craig, he was a walking book of “useless trivia.”
During his high school career, he was chosen to sing and was the student director for the United States Honors Choir, which toured Europe and sang in the well-known churches in Rome.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his brother, Craig (Kristin) Jeffrey of Washington; his sister, Callie (Mark) Cooper of Squirrel Hill; his niece, Emily Cooper; his nephew, Colby Jeffrey; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Deceased are his maternal grandparents, Harold and Mary Strope, and his paternal grandparents, Dwight and Sadie Jeffrey.
The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m., on Saturday, May 17, 2014, in the Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown. Other arrangements will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Burgettstown Community Library, 2 Kerr St.; Burgettstown, PA 15021.
