Frank J. Bednarek

BEDNAREK, Frank J. “Pap Pap,” 81, of Steubenville, died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Trinity West E.R.

He was born June 21, 1932, in Steubenville, a son of the late Albert and Michalina Olenick Bednarek. Also preceding Frank in death are his first wife of 27 years, Patricia Solomon Bednarek; four brothers Joseph, Stanley, Anthony and Matthew Bednarek; three sisters, Nancy Jesionek, Agnes Long and Mary Hook; one stepson, Joseph Stephen Molinaro.

Surviving are his wife of 23 years Betty Molinaro Bednarek; three children, Frank (Kimberly) Bednarek, Michael (Amy) Bednarek and Dawn (Carlo) Capaldi; seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Andrew, Zachary, Bryant, Cassie, Francesca and Gabriella; one sister, Helen Conroy; one great-granddaughter, Delana Bednarek; two stepchildren, Carolyn Devore, and Paulette Evans; one stepdaughter-in-law, Linda Molinaro; six stepgrandchildren, Ronald, Lucas, Natale, Lucia, Arielle, and Adam; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

Frank was a veteran of the Korean War. He was also a retired city of Steubenville firefighter of 26 years, member of Triumph of the Cross (Holy Rosary) Parish, member of the Fun Seekers Club and a member of the Holy Rosary Bocci Leauge.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home 4435 Sunset Blvd. Steubenville. Vigil service to be held at 6:15 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Church with Fr. Bradley Greer celebrating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Calling hours are Tuesday 5-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
