Harold Lee Higgs

HIGGS, Harold Lee, 67, of Mingo Junction, died Monday, March 24, 2014, at Trinity West.

He was born Jan. 29, 1947, in Martins Ferry, the son of the late James and Millie Jane Sickles Higgs, Harold is a retired industrial painter and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War where he received a Purple Heart.

Harold was a member of the Painters Union Local 438 and was a member of the Indian Creek Band Boosters.

Harold is also preceded in death by an infant son, Samuel Jacob Higgs, three brothers, James, Charles, and Robert Higgs, four sisters, Patricia Jackson, Sarah Powell, Clara Higgs and an infant, Wanda Higgs

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Anderson Higgs whom he married Oct. 23, 1969, two daughters, Dlorah Higgs of Lexington Park, MD and Jane (Don) Tingler of Pomfret, MD; one brother, Charles Higgs of OK, four grandchildren, Sandra Higgs, Zachary Van Meter, Katlyn Pelley, and Jacob Tingler.

Calling hours are Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd. Steubenville, where services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Rev. Sonny Shoe will officiate and burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
