Agnes ‘Bonnie’ Catherine (McElwain) Schlotter Coyle
COYLE, Agnes “Bonnie” Catherine (McElwain) Schlotter, 83, of Follansbee, WV, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Lifeline Hospital, Wintersville, OH.
Agnes was born on May 27, 1930, in Pittsburgh, PA. She was the daughter of the late Hugh and Elizabeth (McCaffery) McElwain.
Agnes was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Follansbee, WV served as past organist and choir member, Catholic Golden Agers served as Past President, Ancient Order of Hibernians. She worked as a clerk at Weirton Steel. Many will remember Agnes for her love of her family and a proud Irish spirit.
In addition to her parents, Agnes was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert C. Schlotter, second husband, Walter Jonczak, third husband, Patrick Coyle, a son, David C. Schlotter, a daughter, Bernadette Schlotter, a granddaughter, Lindsay Manuel, and a sister, Mary McDonald.
Agnes is survived by her four children, Beth (Stephen) Manuel of Wintersville, OH, Margaret (Gary) Garrison of Cadiz, OH, Cathy (Wayne) Heavelyn of Cadiz, OH, and Eric (Christina) Schlotter of New Cumberland, WV, 12 grandchildren, Stephanie (Matt) Patterson, Steven, Whitney, and Jillian Garrison, Matt and John Schlotter, Megan Swain, Jessica (Miguel) Zapata, Breanna and Bobby Meintel, and Ty and Emileigh Schlotter; four great- grandchildren, Elizabeth, Brianna, Hannah, and Hailey, a sister, Sister Helen Elizabeth McElwain S.C., a brother, Dr. John Jay McElwain, several nieces and nephews and her extended Coyle family.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. with Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. at the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main St., Follansbee, WV (304) 527- 1717, where funeral will commence on Thursday, March 13, 2014, at 9 a.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 1017 Jefferson St., Follansbee, WV with Msgr. Paul Hudock, presiding.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV.
