STEWART, Margaret Una “Maggie” (James), 82, of Follansbee, WV, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center after a brief illness.
Maggie was born April 6, 1931, in Windsor Heights, WV. She was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Roach) James.
Maggie was also preceded in death by her husband, James G. Stewart.
Maggie was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Follansbee, WV. She was highly active in the community and known for her exuberant spirit. Maggie and her late husband, Jim, raised five children. Later she worked as an executive secretary, retiring from the President’s Office of Bethany College.
Maggie is survived by her children, Mary Kay (Larry) Altmann of Severna Park, MD, James H. (Pam) Stewart of Wellsburg, WV, Maureen (Page) Mauck of Richmond, VA, Diane C. Stewart (Bruce Noble Jr.) of Granada, Nicaragua, Meg (Paul) Kabis of Severna Park, MD; 11 grandchildren, Shannon (William) Hunter, Colleen (Kevin) Ingram, Shawn and Jamie Stewart, Kathryn and Page Mauck, Nicholas and Michael Altmann, and Stewart, Molly, and Anna Kabis; a great-granddaughter, Reagan Ingram; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, February 17, 2014, from 7-9 p.m. with vigil service at 8:30 p.m. and Tuesday, February 18, 2014, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the James Funeral Home, 1245 Main Street, Follansbee, WV, (304) 527-1717, where funeral will commence on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 9 a.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 1017 Jefferson Street, Follansbee, WV with Msgr. Paul Hudock, presiding.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV.
