Judith P. Cavanaugh

CAVANAUGH, Judith P. 77, of Wintersville, Ohio, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Trinity West.

She was born on Oct. 4, 1936, in Steubenville, OH, a daughter of the late Ronald and Jean Fach Phillips.

Judith was a Boy Scouts of America den mother, and received the Silver Fawn award the highest award a woman can receive from the Boy Scouts. She was a former member of the Wintersville Council, Wintersville Public Affairs Board and Wintersville Lions Club.

Preceding Judith in death was her husband Matthew P. Cavanaugh. Surviving are her children Matthew P. “Corky” (Zita) Cavanaugh of Waterford, OH, Michael P. (Linda) Cavanaugh of Wintersville, OH, Cathy Jean (Donald) Taggart of Burgettstown, PA, Ronald T. (Joyce) Cavanaugh of Wintersville, OH and Robert K. Cavanaugh of Steubenville, OH; sister Donna DellaPenna Fisher of Wintersville, OH; brother Nicholas Fach of Severna Park, MD; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville Thursday 6-9 p.m. where a service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Bill Lawrence officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery.
