GOGUL, Rose M., 98, of Ann Arbor, MI, formerly of Steubenville, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at Sunrise Nursing Home in Ann Arbor.
She is the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Ziecina Habash.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter L. Gogul Sr. to whom she was married for 68 years; two sisters, Mary Gryszko and Victoria Habash; and brothers, John, Frank, Anthony, Walter, and Joseph Habash.
Rose was a homemaker and member of Triumph of The Cross Catholic Church and was active for many years in the Catholic Women’s Club at the former Holy Name Cathedral.
Surviving are her son, Walter “Wally” L. Gogul Jr, of Steubenville; and her daughter, Sheila (Stephen) Shulman, of Ann Arbor, MI; her sister, Veronica Huff of Steubenville; four grandchildren, Stewart Sculman, Simone (Jeff) Riggs, Katie Rose (Frank Jr.) Petrola, and Stephanie Gogul; four great- grandchildren, Zoe, Max, Isaac, and Ian.
Rose was a wonderful grandmother and great- grandmother and will be remembered for her homemade Christmas cookies and lasagna. She was also an avid Steubenville Catholic Central supporter.
Calling hours are from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. There will be a vigil service at 4:30 pm.
A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. on Monday at Holy Name Cathedral, Fr. Tom Nau celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
