Mary Florence Miller

MILLER, Mary Florence, 96, a homemaker, of Toronto (Knoxville), OH, passed away at her home Friday, Jan. 24, 2014.

She was born April 30, 1917, in Bakersville, PA, the daughter of the late Morris and Etta Miller Meyers.

Florence attended the Sugar Grove United Methodist Church, Sugar Grove, OH and was a member of the Knotty Bunch of the church; member of the Friends of the Jefferson Ruritan Club; was an avid crafter and loved to travel with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert C. “Abe” Miller in 2000 whom she married June 28, 1933, and a brother, Tilford Meyers.

Florence is survived by her daughters, Ruth (Robert) Cairo of Dayton, OH and Joyce (Gerald) Wiley of Toronto; son, Albert C. (Clara) Miller, Jr. of Carmichaels, PA; sister, Ruth Mehal of Jefferson, PA; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-great- grandchildren also survive.

Visitation hours for Florence will be held 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30 and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 31st at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto.

A celebration service of Mary’s life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 31st at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Willson officiating.

Interment will follow at the Knoxville Cemetery, State Route 152, Toronto (Knoxville), OH.

Friends and family are invited to a funeral luncheon at the Sugar Grove Methodist Church following services at the funeral home Friday.

Memorial contributions in memory of Mary may be sent to the American Cancer Society.

Florence was in the care of Charity Hospice.
