Louise M. Hanish

HANISH, Louise M., 88, of Bloomingdale, Ohio, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, in the Gables Care Center in Hopedale, Ohio.

She was born Aug. 16, 1925, in Zotzenbach, Germany, a daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Strohmenger) Huebner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. “Bob” Hanish on Sept. 8, 2009; her two brothers, Michael and Nicholas Huebner; and her sister, Emmie Huebner.

Louise enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for them. She also enjoyed working in her vegetable garden alongside her husband, Bob; and planting and maintaining her several beautiful flower gardens. She also enjoyed bird watching especially those who came to visit her at her bird feeder outside the dining room window.

She enjoyed traveling especially to her home country of Germany with her husband to visit her relatives and enjoy the country side. She also enjoyed the annual summer fishing trips to Westmeath, Canada.

In her later years she enjoyed sitting on her front porch with a good cup of coffee and going out for homemade ice cream.

Surviving are two sons, John Hanish of Bloomingdale, OH and Mark Hanish and his wife, Jill Larson of Baden, PA; two daughters, Barbara Wheeler of Mingo Junction, OH and Marilyn (John) Dubois of Fenwick, Ontario; four grandchildren, Kristen Wheeler and her husband Michael Kurner of Mingo Junction, Joseph (Mandie) Wheeler of Imperial, PA, and Mica and Leuca Hanish both of Baden, PA; three great-grandchildren, Brody and Harper Kurner and Riley Wheeler; her sister, Anna Weidenauer of Reinheim, Germany; and her brother, Henrich Huebner of Heidelberg, Germany.

In following with Louise’s wishes there will be no services. Private burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
