Lisa Jean Bell

BELL, Lisa Jean, passed away suddenly on Saturday, Jan. 4, at her home in Bloomingdale. But she will never leave our hearts.

Lisa was born in Davenport, Iowa, as the first daughter of Dr. Ronald L. and Martha Jean Bell.

She was a 1978 graduate of Steubenville High School and then attended Kent State University. Lisa loved to laugh. All who knew her marveled at her quick wit, her caring persona – and her incredible strength.

For 25 years she was a dynamic flight attendant for American Airlines. She served hundreds of thousands of customers with enthusiasm, care and compassion. She worked across the world and saw some of the globe’s greatest locales.

But she never wanted to be anywhere other than with her family at home, or on the water at Atwood Lake.

Lisa was a remarkably devoted and tireless mother to her boys, John William of Bloomington, IN., Matthew of El Mirage, AZ., and Luke and Mark of Bloomingdale. They – plus their loyal dogs Della, Bonz and Anjuna – were her loves. They were her life.

Also surviving are her beloved companion of 16 years, Jay Brown; her son, Matthew’s wife, Ariana; grandsons, Tyler and Matthew; granddaughters, Gabriella and Charley; older brother, Ronald Jr. and nephews, Zac and Sean of Huntington Beach, CA.; younger sister, Gwendolyn of Beverly Hills, Mich.; younger brother, Gregg and his wife, Wendy; niece, Sarah; and nephew, Eric of Seattle; and Mark’s cherished partner, Stephanie.

A private viewing and private ceremony will be held Thursday, Jan. 9, at the Shorac Funeral Home, 611 N. Fourth St., in Steubenville. Rev. Randy Sells of Colonial Baptist Church in Wintersville will preside over the private service.

Burial will follow at Lisa’s resting place at Union Cemetery with other family members.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson County Humane Society.

A special thank you to the tremendous men and women of the Belvedere Volunteer Fire Department and Unionport EMS.

Lisa, we love you. We will forever.
