Frances V. Humpe

HUMPE, Frances V., 86, of Hanoverton, passed away on Monday Jan. 13, 2014, at Life Line Hospital in Wintersville following a lengthy illness.

She had been a resident of East Liverpool since 1965 before moving to Hanoverton a few years ago.

Born in Steubenville on Jan. 20, 1927, Fran was a daughter of the late Henry and Hedwig Krisch Humpe.

An expert floral designer, she co-owned and operated the Flowerland florist in Chester for many years.

Fran was a member of the Holy Trinity Parish in East Liverpool where she had been very active with the Alter and Rosary Society’s. She had currently been attending St. George Catholic Church in Lisbon.

Her family that had passed away prior to her are her sisters, Gertrude Van Horn, Agnes and Helen Humpe, Margaret Schrader, and Mary Jo Minges and her brothers, Henry, John, and Frederick Humpe.

Fran leaves her sister, Sister Susanne “Ruth” Humpe OSF of Columbus, OH; several nieces and nephews, as well as many close friends and co- workers.

Rev. Father Peter Haladej will preside for a Mass of Christian Funeral at Holy Trinity Parish in East Liverpool on Saturday January 18 at 11 am. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Steubenville. Friends are invited to join the family on Saturday morning at the Arner Funeral Chapel in Chester from 9-10:30 am.
