LANE, James E. “Jim,” 74, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away Friday, December 20, 2013, at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, Ohio.
He was born January 13, 1939, in Newport, Ohio, a son of the late Carl and Ivol (Cline) Lane.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Lane.
Jim served his country in the U.S. Army. He worked at the former Satralloy and retired from International Mill Service. Jim was an avid sports fan, especially following the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Pirates. He loved watching, coaching and playing baseball.
Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Marsha (Motto) Lane, whom he married August 2, 1969; three children, Julie Lane, Kim Lane and Jimmy (Amy) Lane, all of Mingo Junction; six grandchildren, Dylan, Hannah, Austin, Aiden, Melia and Max; a sister, Evelyn (Richard) Grimm of Mingo Junction; and two brothers, Carl (Diane) Lane of Paris, PA and Gerald (Karen) Lane of Piedmont Lake, Ohio.
Friends will be received at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, on Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. and also from 4 p.m. until the time of his funeral services at 6 p.m. with Pastor Charles “Sonny” Shoe, officiating.
