Edward Sabol

SABOL, Edward James, 77, of Toronto, OH, formerly of Las Vegas, NV, passed away surrounded by his loving family Saturday, December 21, 2013, at the Trinity Medical Center-West, Steubenville, OH.

He was born April 13, 1936 in Mingo Junction, OH, the son of the late Michael and Louise (Aud Miller) Sabol.

Edward was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church of Toronto, OH; loved to fish, hunt and go camping; had been employed at the Weirton Steel Company, Titanium Metals Corp. and retired after 25 years as a Keno Supervisor at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV.

He served his country during the Vietnam War as a Sea Bee in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1964.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Sabol.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. (Deiderich) Sabol whom he married April 4, 1959; sons, Phillip E. Sabol of Toronto, OH, Daniel W. (Shelia Rae) Sabol, Eric L. Sabol and Alan F. (Michelle) Sabol all of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Anthony, Gianna, Ashley, Lynsey, Dwight, Nick, Roco, Aidan and Kiefer Sabol; great – granddaughter, Melanie Sabol; sister, Ann Brilla of Mingo Junction, OH.

Visitation hours for Edward will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, December 23, at the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto.

A Vigil Service will be held at 4:15 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Friends and family will gather at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, December 24, at the St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, corner of Findley St. and Euclid Ave., Toronto, followed by a Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 10 a.m. at the church with officiant the Reverend Father Thomas Vennitti.

Interment will take place at a later date at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, NV, with full military honors.

There will be full military honors by the Toronto American Legion at the St, Francis Catholic Church following Mass Tuesday.

The family wishes to invite family and friends to the family home, 470 County Road 47, Toronto, for a luncheon following the Mass at St. Francis Catholic Church on Tuesday.
