Alberto Pulice

PULICE, Alberto, 85, of Weirton, passed away in his home on Monday, December 2, 2013.

Born January 25, 1928 in Belmonte, Calabria, Italy, he was a son of the late Michaela and Rosa Pate Pulice.

He was also preceded in death by his lovely wife, Carmela Giardino Pulice. Together they immigrated to this country at a very young age in 1951. He wanted to make a better life for himself and his family. He worked very hard all his life to provide for his family. He brought all his extended family over to this country to give them greater opportunities as well.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Litizia Pulice and her husband, Salvatore; Giacomino Pulice; and Maria Conforti and her husband, Giuseppe.

Together Albert and Carmela raised three sons and a daughter: John Albert Pulice, Michael Joseph Pulice, Rose Annette Arnold and David Carmen Pulice. He is the father-in-law to Mary Anne Pulice, Nancy Pulice, Daniel Arnold and Jennifer Pulice. Albert is Papa to Stephanie (Wayne) Casey, Jennifer Curtis, Daniel (Sara) Pulice, Jamie (Kelly) Pulice, Kimberly (Carmen) Heubel, Joseph Daniel Arnold, Anthony Albert Arnold, Nicholas David Pulice and Ethan Michael Pulice. Albert is Great Papa to Carissa Casey, Michael, Jake and Drew Curtis, Caroline Pulice, Lucky and Carmela Pulice and Bella and Max Heubel. He is the brother to Elvira (Salvatore) Pulice and Olinda (Palmarino) Conforti. His in-laws include Elaina Pulice, John Giardino, Jo Ann Giardino, Cecelia Gardino and Annie Giardino. Albert will be truly missed by his wonderful nieces and nephews. He loved them very much and was very proud of all his family’s accomplishments.

Albert was a member of St. Joseph Worker Roman Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus 3734. He also played bocce for many years for the Knights. With 30 years of service, he retired from Weirton Steel’s Coke Plant. Albert was a talented builder and did construction work through the years. He took pride in all the work he did from his gardening to building houses.

Our Dad would want to be remembered as a hardworking man, honest, trustworthy and a good provider. He was a true believer in education and hard work. A man who loved his family and would do anything for them. Dad was very fortunate to live out his final wishes – to stay in his own home and live his final days there. We would like to thank all the staff at Dr. Cherian John’s office, Dr. Gary Hanson, Dr. H. Parihar and his staff, Dr. B. Kochhar and Dr. Roy Landfair of Mercy Hospital. Weirton Medical Center’s Home Health Staff (especially Amber Sargent, RN, and Karen, NA), Herche Bloor Pharmacy (Tony and Bruno De Caria), the staff at Tri- State Medical, Coram, Health Care Solutions and Heritage Home Health Agencies. And most of all, a special thank you to his caretakers – Heather Woods, Bobbie Lynn, Kasey Weyrauch, Richelle K. and Debbie D. They made Daddy’s days a little happier and did everything they could to make him comfortable. They were true angels and bent over backward to make him happy. Without these wonderful caretakers and providers, we wouldn’t have been able to do it. God bless them all for helping our Dad.
