Ronald ‘Motor’ Trolley
TROLLEY, Ronald “Motor,” 85, of Follansbee, WV, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2013, in San Antonio, TX, with his family at his side.
Ronald was born on August 26, 1928, in Warwood, WV. He was the son of the late George and Mary (Battalio) Trolley.
Ronald was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Theta Chi Alpha Fraternity, Knights of Columbus, and Garibaldi Lodge, all in Follansbee, WV. He grew up serving the church, with his beloved wife, Rose Ann, as a lector and as an alter server, well into his 70s.
Ronald served Follansbee as a member of the City Council and also served his country in Japan, earning the World War II Victory Medal. He enjoyed league bowling at Holiday Lanes, was a passionate Notre Dame football fan and was the self-proclaimed, undisputed euchre champion of the world.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Ann Trolley; a son, Ronald “Poochie” Trolley; a grandson, Andrew Trolley; and his brother, Joseph Thomas Trolley.
Ronald is survived by his five children, Robert (Gloria) Trolley of Follansbee, WV, Holly (Danny) Toscano of Las Vegas, NV, Maria (Paul) Leone of Las Vegas, NV, Michael (Christine) Trolley of San Antonio, TX, and Jeanne (Tim) St. John of San Antonio, TX; three grandchildren, Nick, Christopher, and Alexandra Trolley; a great-granddaughter, Ocean Trolley; and a sister, Jackie Perkins of Follansbee, WV.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 8, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 1017 Jefferson Street, Follansbee, WV with Msgr. Paul Hudock, celebrating.
Interment will follow privately at Oak Grove Cemetery, Follansbee, WV.
