Marjorie Kibler

KIBLER, Marjorie. The family of Marjorie “Marge” Kibler of Seminole, FL, is sad to announce her passing. She passed peacefully at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013, from complications of surgery.

Marge was born to John E. and Hazel Moore Bohrer on August 22, 1932, in Weirton, WV.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marilyn Risher Stout.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Kenneth of Seminole, FL; sons, Denver K Beckner, (Wendy) of Glenn Dale MD, Mark A. Beckner (Cheryl) of East Liverpool, OH, and daughter, Susan V. Delong of Ft. Meyers, FL, stepchildren, Kathy Lepper (Chris) of Canfield, OH, and Eric (Amy Ann) Kibler of Lisbon, OH. She is also survived by a brother, John “Rich” Bohrer (Phyllis) of Weirton, WV, Phyllis Martin of Weirton, WV, and Karen Falk (Joe) of Princeton Il. She has 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Granny, as she was called, will be missed by all.

Following graduation from Weir High in 1950 Marge worked at Isaly’s as well as an operator for the phone company in Weirton. An early marriage ended in divorce and Marge moved her family to Newell where they settled and she later became President of the Newell Jr. Women’s Club in the late 1960s, receiving accolades from then first lady Lady Bird Johnson for the work that was done while she was President of the club.

In the mid-70s Marge moved to central Pennsylvania and remarried. During this time along with her husband she raced pigeons, bred and raised thoroughbreds which she thought of as her babies. If that wasn’t enough to keep her busy she returned to work at a local motel as a night clerk and within three years she was the manager of that motel. She enjoyed the interaction with people and took great pleasure and pride in her work. She flourished during these times though her husband was very sick. He passed away in 1996 after a long illness.

In 1998, Marge was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer, at the same time she was rekindling a long ago friendship with Ken Kibler. Their admiration and love grew and despite everything that was going on in her life she and Ken married in December of 1999. Though the cancer treatments were tough on her body Marge resisted the cancer and eventually moved with Ken to Florida where she lived her life in happiness.

Pastor William Anvezino will preside over the ceremony and celebration of Marge’s life at the Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home 360 Penco Road Weirton at 10 a.m. on October 19.
