REEVES, Jacob T. “Jake” Jr., 66, of Toronto, OH, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 in Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.
Jake was born March 11, 1947 in Steubenville, OH, son of the late Jacob T. Reeves, Sr. and Madge Sinnett Reeves.
Jake was retired from First Energy Corp. with 32 years of service at the Sammis Plant where he was Supply Chain Supervisor. He was veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served his country in Vietnam and his memberships included: Chester, WV American Legion Post 121, Toronto Fraternal Order of Eagles, lifetime member of VFW Post 6450 in Chester. He was Methodist by faith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Charlotte Gatton.
Jake is survived by his companion, Donna Olsen of Toronto; his three daughters, Sherri Wilson and her companion Sid Crowe of Callery, PA, Shanley (Drew) Slike of Murrysville, PA, Suzanne Kresser and her companion Ken Perkins of Mingo Jct., OH; his grandchildren, Jeffrey and Rachelle Wilson, Riley, Ethan and Charles Slike; his sister, Jan (Clint) Buchanan; two brothers, Robert (Kathy) Reeves and Jeff Reeves both of Toronto; three half-brothers, Clifford (Inga) Reeves, Nelson (Jean) Reeves and Richard Reeves; one half-sister Dorothy (Louie) Clouse; seven nieces and nephews, 10 great-nieces and great- nephews.
Visitation for Jake will be held on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and again on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Toronto, OH.
His funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Toronto with Rev. Kevin Rinkes officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Grove Union Cemetery.
Full military graveside honors will be provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard at the cemetery.
