Shirley Turner

TURNER, Shirley L. Linn, 79, of Wintersville, Ohio died Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Acuity Hospital, Steubenville.

She was born on April 14, 1934, in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Denzel P. Linn and Olive Degenkolb Linn of Wintersville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Turner, Jr.; son, John C. Chambers; and her father.

Shirley was a member St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and the Women of the Moose Lodge 586 of Steubenville where she served a senior regent and was employed there for over 18 years.

She is survived by three sons, Curtis A. (Faye) Chambers of Catoosa, OK, Roger J. (Nancy) Chambers of Wintersville, Charles P. Chambers of Anchorage, Alaska; a daughter, Cynthia L (David) Hollingsworth of New Orleans, LA; two step-sons, Keith (Debbie) Turner of Toronto and Charles Richard (Mary) Turner of Columbus; mother, Olive Linn; and a brother, Denzel W. (Juanita) Linn both of Wintersville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Sunday from 5-8 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bill Westling officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.
