Kenneth J. Dahlem

DAHLEM, Kenneth J. “Kenny,” 79, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away suddenly Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, Ohio.

He was born October 12, 1933, in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of the late Frank and Opal (Wright) Dahlem.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Grace Ann Ossio; a stepson, Wilford C. Crowe, Jr.; three brothers and a sister.

Kenny retired from Weirton Steel Tin Mill where he was a forklift operator. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge, Eagles and P.N.A. Club all in Steubenville. He loved going to Milsop Community Center in Weirton, where he was a senior exercise instructor. He enjoyed traveling, exercise and playing handball and basketball. He was also a three time gold medalist for the Senior Olympics in Washington D.C.

Surviving are his wife, Anna M. (Granat) Dahlem, whom he married on July 10, 1982; a stepdaughter, June (Jeffery) Kaufmann of Medina, Ohio; four stepgrandchildren, Missy (Christopher) Elliott, Sr., Amy Ossio, Kasey Kaufmann and Nikki Kaufmann; two stepgreat-grandchildren, Briyanna Elliott and Christopher “Champ” Elliott Jr.; and a sister.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction, where services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m., with Fr. Nick Halkias, officiating.

Interment with will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Mingo Junction.
