Richard ‘Dick’ A. Loeffler

LOEFFLER, Richard “Dick” A., 81, of Paris, PA, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 6, 1932, in Oakmont, PA. He was the son of the late Archie and Helen Strauss Loeffler.

He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Christina Marie; and his buddy, that he considered his granddaughter, Kinsley S. Ard; sister, Eileen Alexander; brother, John “Jack” Loeffler.

Dick was a member of Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, a U.S. Navy Korean War veteran, past president of the Trail & Track Youth Cycle club, past commodore of the Weirton Marina, Ranch foreman of the “Flying L” ranch. Dick was instrumental in the design and construction of the present playground at Starvaggi Memorial Park. He retired as a foreman electrician of the Wire Gang at Weirton Steel Corp.

Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Karen Wright Loeffler; daughter, Terri Tuttle (Earl) of Toronto, OH; sons, Rich Loeffler of Wintersville, OH, John A. Loeffler (Cynthia) of Belton, TX; grandchildren, Crisstina Levite (Dan), Amanda Tuttle, and Shelby Ard (who he considered a granddaughter); six great- grandchildren; sister, Helen Sweeney of Weirton, WV.

Visitation will be at the Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 380 Penco Road, Weirton, WV on Friday, June 21, 2013, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. with Reverend Michaela Jasper Brown presiding.

Graveside burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with military honors by American Legion Post No. 10 and WV Honor Guard.
