MARAS, James, 77, of Amsterdam, died Friday morning June 28, 2013, in Sienna Woods Center following an extended illness.
Born August 13, 1935, in Wolf Run, Ohio, he was a son of the late Stephan and Mary Repasky Maras.
James was a graduate of Springfield High School and attended the Pittsburgh Art Institute. He was an Army Veteran and a retiree of the North American Coal Company – Jensie Mine at East Springfield.
James was a member of the All Saints Orothodox Church in Wolf Run.
He is survived by two brothers, Steve Maras of the home, and John (Doris) Maras of Celina, Ohio; one niece, Jill Maras; and one nephew, Jon Maras.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home, at Amsterdam, with Fr. Gregory Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the All Saints Cemetery at Wolf Run.
Visitation will be Monday morning from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
