ULASIEWICZ, Mark Vincent, 56, of Jefferson, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at his home on May 8, 2013, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Mark was born in Steubenville, Ohio, on July 24, 1956, a son of Alexander Ulasiewicz and the late Matilda Jolly Ulasiewicz.
After joining the U.S. Army and working on the railroad for a number of years, he settled in New Orleans. He was quite a person, though quiet by nature, his generous and kind spirit was loved by many. Mark’s convictions were strong and his heart was huge. He retired from US Airways in October 2012.
Mark is survived by his loving wife of many years, Marian Brewster Ulasiewicz; four daughters, Samantha (Gerrad) Ulasiewicz Calegan, Kimberly Ann Ulasiewicz, Beverly Ann Julia Gaudin, and Mary Clare Ulasiewicz; siblings Gwyn Aldridge, Alexander “Bo” (Darlene) Ulasiewicz, Greg Ulasiewicz, Matthew (Natalie) Ulasiewicz and also many other members of the Ulasiewicz and Brewster families.
Relatives and friends attended the visitation at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, in Metairie, LA, on May 13, 2013. The family is asking that contributions in his memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 2605 River Road, New Orleans, LA 70121.
