Vera T. Barilla
BARILLA, Vera T., 87, of Steubenville, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, April 28, 2013, at Trinity Medical Center West. She was surrounded in her passing by her loved ones.
Born in Johnsonburg, PA, on August 29, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Theresa Bruzzese Tegano.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patsy “Pat” Barilla, and her brother, John Tegano.
She leaves behind loved ones including: her son, Santo (Tammy) Barilla, of Steubenville, two daughters, Carolyn (Pete) Cesta of Las Vegas, NV and Patty (John) Thompson of Carlisle, PA; four grandchildren, Pete Cesta Jr., Marc S. Barilla, Heather (Jeff) Carlile and Lance Thompson; and three great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Deegan and Zane. She also leaves behind her cherished sister and brother-in-law, Antoinette and Alfred Carducci and many neices and nephews.
Vera was a member of Triumph of the Cross (formerly St. Anthony’s) Catholic Church and the Catholic Women’s Club. She retired from the Capri Sausage Shop in Steubenville.
When not spending time preparing food and dining with her family, Vera enjoyed watching college football and the Steelers, Law and Order, and her favorite soaps including Days of Our Lives.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 1st from 4-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A funeral Liturgy With Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. at Holy Name Cathedral, Fr. Bradley Greer, celebrant. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be a vigil service at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
