SWEARINGEN, Paul, 83, of Amsterdam, died early Wednesday morning April 3, 2013, in Weirton Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born November 10, 1929, in Weirton, he was a son of the late Cecil and Birdella Long Swearingen.
Paul was retired from Wheeling-Pitt Steel Corp. and had operated a tree farm along with a Texaco Auto Service Station in East Springfield.
He is survived by his wife, the former Esther Horkey whom he married January 27, 1951; two sons, Len (Sandy) Swearingen of Bergholz, OH, Rod (Colette) Swearingen of Cadiz, OH; four grandchildren, Jake Swearingen, Nicole Morgan, Whitney Swearingen, and Doug Moore; three great-grandchildren, Andrew Moore, Matthew Moore, and Adalyn Swearingen; three sisters, Violet Nelson of Columbus, OH, Norma Davis of Richmond, OH, and Verna Jean Newburn of Greenfield, IN.
He was preceded in death by one son, Kerry; two brothers; and one sister.
Honoring Paul’s request there will be no funeral services.
Memorial donations in Paul’s name may be made to the East Springfield Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box, East Springfield,Ohio.
