William Campbell

CAMPBELL, William “Bill” Thirlwall, 81, of Wellsburg, WV, passed away March 24, 2013 at home surrounded by his family.

Bill was born February 29, 1932 in Bertha, Pa., to the late Robert L. and Elizabeth Jane Thomson Campbell.

He retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel as a foreman in the Boiler Shop, and was an Army and Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of the Olde St. John Episcopal Church, and a member of the Wellsburg Moose Lodge, VFW, Olde St. John Vestri, ECM, and American Legion.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his son, Louis William Campbell; four brothers, George Campbell, James E. Moore Sr., Robert Lindsy Campbell, and Joseph Campbell; three sisters, Mary Jane Ragan, Ann Elliott, and Mercia Beltram.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Nola Cox Campbell; two sons, Eric W. and his wife, Belinda Campbell, Kurt E. Campbell and his wife, Nancy, all of Wellsburg; also a nephew, Delbert Campbell and his wife Pam, of Colliers, WV; one daughter, Diania “Kim” Gagich and John of Wellsburg; one brother, Allen Campbell of Louise, WV; seven grand children; and five great- grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 29, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 at Reasner Funeral Home, 1515 Charles St., Wellsburg, WV. Services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Olde St. John Episcopal Church, Colliers, WV, with full grave side military rites by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorial contribution be made to Olde St. John Episcopal Church or Valley Hospice.
