Charles Kindsvatter

KINDSVATTER, Charles T., 78, of Washington, DC, formerly of Steubenville, died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Brinton Woods Washington DC.

He was born January 18, 1935, in Steubenville, the son of the late William and Lillian Baker Kindsvatter.

Charles was a retired Captain from the Capital Police Department and also was an assistant to the former US Congressman, Wayne L. Hayes, was a graduate of Catholic Central High School class of 1952, attended the University of Notre Dame and Catholic University.

Charles was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Capital Hill and St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Steubenville.

Surviving are cousins, Donna Latkiewicz of Weirton, Erma Linn of Steubenville, Bill (Nancy) Linn of Steubenville and their children, Melanie Linn, Carrie (Matthew) Branchick and Eric (Liza) Linn, Paula (David) Krechowski of Beaver Falls and their child, Kelly Krechowski, Jack Veneman and Thomas Veneman both of FL.; and long time friend, Jack Malone of Silver Spring, MD.

Calling hours are Tuesday 4-8 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville. A Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, St. Peter Catholic Church, Fr. Timothy Huffman, celebrant. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. There will be a vigil service at 7:45 p.m.
