Betty E. Ralston
RALSTON, Betty E., 90, of Toronto, Ohio, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013, at Trinity Medical Center West in Steubenville, Ohio, with her family at her side.
Betty was born in Toronto, Ohio, a daughter of E. Ernest Wright and Corella (Carman) Wright.
A 1940 graduate of Toronto High School, she was formerly employed at Follansbee Steel Co., and later owned and operated Ralston’s Beauty Shop in Toronto for many years.
Mrs. Ralston was an active 80-year member of North River Avenue Christian Church in Toronto, Ohio. Through the years she taught Sunday school, was involved with the church’s Vacation Bible School and Missionary Society and served as a deaconess of the church. She was also a member of the Toronto Order of Eastern Star Chapter 215 and the White Shrine.
Her husband of nearly 50 years, Donald G. Ralston Jr., preceded her in death in 1993. Betty was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy McKinley, a brother Robert and her parents.
Betty is survived by her son, David and his wife, Patty of Toronto; her daughter, Janis and her husband, Ed of Wintersville, Ohio; and three grandchildren: Donald Ralston, Brigette Ralston Dudurich and Eric Westfall. Six great-grandchildren also survive.
It was Betty’s request that there be no visitation. A memorial service and a private burial at the Toronto Union Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are being cared for by the Clarke Funeral Home, 302 Main St., Toronto.
