City’s web pages offer wealth of information

STEUBENVILLE — City officials say there’s a wealth of information on their web pages, cityofsteubenville.us, to assist residents with everything from home improvements to water safety tips for winter and getting rid of mold.

The idea, Urban Projects Director Chris Petrossi said, is to get residents the answers they need without having to stand in line at the city building.

“We’ve tried to make our web pages as user friendly as possible,” Petrossi said. “So many times people can find the answers to their questions or obtain forms they need just by visiting our web page and benefit from the information there. People can benefit from the info that’s available tremendously. There’s all sorts of informative things … guides for new doors, new windows, if you’re going to build a deck or put in a pool, a hot tub or shed, anything you can think of. Plus, we have all the applications and forms you need online.”

“It’s still February, but people should start planning ahead now,” he said. “You don’t usually wake up one day and decide you need a roof, there’s some planning involved. You should start thinking ahead about what’s needed.”

Petrossi said there’s even a section on contractor licensing and specialty trades.

“There’s just a wealth of information so I encourage people to use it,” Petrossi said. “And they should call ahead and talk to a permit technician to begin their planning project.

Permit applications can still be submitted in person, mail, fax or e-mail. Likewise, he said payments can be made with a check or cash, or with a credit card in person or by phone.

Petrossi said the informational resources are available online at http://cityofsteubenville.us/building-inspection-and-property-maintenance/
