Madonna announces Hall of Fame inductees
WEIRTON — The Weirton Madonna High School Hall of Fame has announced its 2018 induction class, which will be honored on Dec. 1.
This year’s class, and the induction categories include:
¯ Lifetime achievement, Timothy Castelli, Class of 1985; Norman D. Ferrari III, Class of 1975.
¯ Academic excellence, Maureen Lafferty, Class of 1977.
¯ Stewardship, Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace.
¯ Service to Catholic schools, Edward Fusiek, Class of 1967; Richard Mahoney, Class of 1964.
¯ Philanthropy, Norman D. Ferrari Jr.
¯ Athletic excellence, John Harcharic, Class of 1970; Peter Horoszko, Class of 1970; Richard Matijevich, Class of 1968; Paul Paolisso, Class of 1966.
The hall of fame dinner will be held Dec. 1 at Williams Golf and Country Club. Those interested in attending are asked to contact Christine Holmes at (304) 723-0545, beginning Nov. 13. The cost to attend is $50 per person, and reservations are required.
The Madonna High School Hall of Fame was created to recognize alumni and school supporters for their achievements and contributions to the high school.
Honorees are selected by a committee based on their humanitarian or athletic contributions.
