Transit meetings start today
STEUBENVILLE — Public input is being sought for plans for the future of public transit in Jefferson County.
Workshops are being held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. today at the Bergholz Volunteer Fire Department and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Primetime Office on Aging on Lovers Lane.
Workshops also will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 23 at the Toronto City Building and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Wells Township Community Center in Brilliant.
The Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Association said the meetings are to gather input on making public transit more efficient in the county.
Residents who use or are interested in using public transportation should attend to provide feedback on the availability of public transportation services, identify needs and gaps in service and offer insights about the future of public transportation in the county.
The meetings are part of the update to the Jefferson County Coordinated Human Services Transit Plan.
Residents are able to participate in any session.
