Holliday named president of ORC board of directors

STEUBENVILLE — E. Louise Holliday, environmental educator for the JB Green Team, has been named president of the Ohio Recycling Coalition’s board of directors.

Renee Navarre, chief executive officer for the coalition, announced the appointment. She said Holliday was nominated as the best qualified candidate for the recycling coalition’s board during a recent executive leadership meeting and gained unanimous approval to be the coalition’s president.

“Louise has been actively involved with the Ohio Recycling Coalition since its inception and currently serves as ORC’s treasurer and is a member of ORC’s Leadership Team,” said Arley Owens, executive director for the recycling coalition. “Louise is no stranger to serving on nonprofit boards, having served on the board of directors for the Association of Ohio Recyclers and Keep Reynoldsburg Beautiful for a number of years. Louise brings to the ORC an Ohio solid waste district perspective gained through her exemplary employment career as Jefferson County’s JB Green Team’s Environmental Educator.”

Holliday said, “Being appointed as president of the Ohio Recycling Coalition’s Board of Directors is an honor and privilege and is especially meaningful because I represent the Jefferson-Belmont Regional Solid Waste Authority’s JB Green Team. I am excited to report we’re the first Ohio solid waste district to become charter members of the Ohio Recycling Coalition.

“My priorities are to build awareness about the Ohio Recycling Coalition, recruit 1,000 new members, and establish a sustainable business partnership program, designed to provide business development assistance to new start-up and established recycling, remanufacturing, renewable energy, waste management and sustainable focused businesses,” said Holliday.
