‘American Idol’ finalist set for local concert
WEIRTON — The Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau has announced a special addition to Weirton’s summer concert series, with a performance by “American Idol” finalist Gabby Barrett on Saturday.
The show is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Weirton Event Center, with gates opening at 5 p.m., according to an announcement by CVB Executive Director Dan Greathouse.
“Many of us watched weekly as Gabby wowed television audiences with a wide array of musical talent,” Greathouse said.
Barrett, a native of Pittsburgh, previously performed in Weirton as part of the 2015, 2016 and 2017 summer concert series at the Weirton Event Center.
She finished third in this year’s season of “American Idol.”
There is no admission to attend, and parking will be available at the Weirton Event Center, as well as the parking lot of the Strip Steel Community Federal Credit Union, the alley off Lee Avenue, the Millsop Community Center and on Main Street.
Bus service will be available from Municipal Plaza.
