Twenty-six indicted in Brooke
WELLSBURG — The Brooke County grand jury on Monday indicted 26 people, including a Weirton man charged with malicious assault and four men accused of sexually abusing juveniles.
William L. Adams, 48, of 3927 Washington St., Weirton, was indicted on four counts of malicious assault for allegedly striking a man known to him in the head with a pipe following an argument on Oct. 3.
Brooke County Prosecutor Joseph Barki III said the victim sustained deep lacerations from the attack.
Others indicted were Benjamin J. Clifton, 20, of 343 Rockdale Road, Follansbee, for second degree sexual assault for alleged sexual intercourse with a juvenile in December; Jason Johnston, 36, of 1227 Swearingen Road, Weirton, first degree sexual assault and several counts of sexual abuse of two juveniles in his custody; Keith A. Wood, 65, of 141 Orchard Lane, Wellsburg, two counts each of first degree sexual abuse and sexual abuse of a juvenile in his custody; and Seth M. Beshires, 18, of 422 Pennsylvania Ave., Colliers, third-degree sexual abuse for alleged sexual intercourse with a juvenile in November.
Also indicted was Stephen Stock, 46, of 937 Broadway Blvd., Steubenville, for breaking and entering, destruction of property, grand larceny and conspiring in connection with the Nov. 30 robbery of Allietta Ford in Wellsburg. Gregory Barnhart, 54, of Canton, was indicted for accessory before the fact and conspiring for allegedly assisting Stock in planning the robbery and providing the vehicle used to break into the building, and Jeffrey Barnhart, 45, of Canton, was indicted for accessory before the fact and conspiring for allegedly assisting Stock in planning it and providing information needed to commit the crime. Barnhart also was indicted for several counts of uttering and forging checks on another’s account.

¯ Lawrence R.Carsey, 57, of 1331 Grove Ave., Steubenville, delivering heroin and transporting into the state.
¯ Shawna M. Davis, 18, of 204 Heathermoor Drive, Weirton, third offense shoplifting.
¯ Shawn Fletcher, 34, and Ryan Vega, 24, both of Langeloth, Pa., daytime burglary, petit larceny, conspiring and destruction of property in connection with the theft of copper and stereo speakers from a Colliers home.
¯ Chad R. Galloway, 34, of 86 Friendly Acres, Wellsburg, and Joshua A. Webster, 34, of 2513 McCords Hill Road, Wellsburg, breaking and entering, grand larceny, transferring stolen property and conspiring in connection with the theft of tools, a compound bow, kayaks and other items from a Beech Bottom home and copper wire from a Beech Bottom business.
¯ Mark A. Galiano, 43, of 373 Putney Ridge Road, Colliers, strangulation for allegedly pulling a hooded sweatshirt around the neck of a woman known to him, making it difficult for her to breathe.
¯ Ronald D. Grimm II, 25, of 45561 McAfee Road, Jewett, possesion of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and conspiring.
¯ Patricia Lancaster, 63, of 120 Greenfield Lane,Wellsburg, obtaining under false pretenses and presenting false claims to Medicaid for allegedly seeking compensation for services she claimed she provided as a caregiver.
¯ Courtney M. McGowan, 24, of 1033 Neville St., Follansbee, child neglect causing serious injury. The Brooke County Prosecutor’s Office said McGowan failed to give iron supplements to her anemic child or have prescribed blood tests performed, resulting in the child suffering from congestive heart failure.
¯ Morgan Nash, 36, of 301 Frostview Drive, Wintersville, third offense shoplifting.
¯ Sean J. Rujak, 33, of 355 Thurman Ave., Weirton, delivering heroin and transporting it into the state.
¯ James A. Starr, 56, of 213 Wildflower Way, Follansbee, two counts of burglary for allegedly breaking into two Hooverson Heights homes and stealing a leaf blower, power saw and other tools.
¯ Shannon Stewart, 46, of 221 Walker Road, Follansbee, two counts of delivering Opana, an opioid, and conspiring.
¯ Lorrie Tustin, 53, of 411 Main St., Follansbee, third offense driving under the influence and battery on emergency service personnel for allegedly kicking an emergency medical technician in the chest and spitting on her.
¯ Vicki L. Westlake, 32, and Richard C. Woods, 24, both of 1341 Orchard St., Weirton, third offense shoplifting for the same incident.
¯ Jennifer Williams, 45, of 49 Commerce Street Extension, Wellsburg, arson for allegedly setting fire to her home, destroying it, for financial reasons.
