JVS students earn medals
Nine early childhood education students at the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School collected some hardware during the Future Career and Community Leaders of America Region 2 competition held March 10 at the Buckeye Career Center in New Philadelphia. Gold medals went to Courtnie Bube and Emily Manley for language and literature and Natasha Fedorka for curriculum unit, while silver medalists included the team of Ashley Baker and Makayla Turner, event planning; Kayla Habbit, entrepreneurship; Brianna Sheets, early childhood education; Alexis Peach, curriculum unit; and Brooke Mitchell, life planning. Students who will head to the state contest in Columbus in April have not yet been announced, school officials said. From left are Bube, Baker, Turner, Manley, Habbit, Sheets, Fedorka and Peach.
