Wells trustees talk several issues

BRILLIANT — Wells Township trustees discussed several issues, including the township’s electricity aggregation program, at a recent meeting.

Scott Belcastro of Trebel LLC presented information regarding the voter-approved electricity aggregation program, and the trustees approved a plan of operation governance with the company, it was noted.

In another matter, Trustee-elect Ron Lazear said a resident called him complaining about materials used on Riddles’ Run Road for snow and ice control. The township resident said the material was in chunks and was kicking up on his vehicle and damaging the vehicle’s paint, Lazear told the other trustees.

In other business, the trustees:

¯ Approved all bills totaling $100,740.29.

¯ Approved purchasing Anthem health insurance for 2018 through Ohio Insurance Service.

¯ Approved a $1-per-hour pay increase in addition to the previously approved 3 percent pay raise, effective Monday, to township employees James Rusnak, Josh Verhovec and Marla Kagle.

Trustee John Goosman reported that he and Road Superintendent John Keyoski attended the pre-construction meeting for the water plant project, which is due to begin this month.

The trustees’ re-organizational meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. today at the township building, 409 Prospect St.
