WVNCC to host
sugar class
WHEELING — West Virginia Northern Community College will offer the third class in a 10-month series focusing on lifestyle and nutrition on Thursday.
The class topic, “Sugar, Stress and Cravings,” will take place on the Wheeling Campus as part of the college’s Community Education Program, and is open to the public. The class will run from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and is $15 per session.
Classes are taught by Certified Nutrition Health Coach Lori McGlumphy. McGlumphy will discuss how sugar can be contributing to many health issues we face, such as weight gain and diabetes, and how to curb cravings.

addiction discussion
WHEELING — The Community Impact Coalition, United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley and the Upper Ohio Valley Ministerial Alliance have joined together to hold a Faith Community Town Hall on Addiction.
The event is set for 5:30 p.m. Jan. 23 at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.
This town hall will focus on the current addiction problem in the Upper Ohio Valley and will address problems that have arisen because of substance misuse and abuse. The event will showcase a panel of faith leaders from across the state and will end with a call to action.
