Blood drive set Monday

BLOOMINGDALE — A blood drive is planned Monday at the Jefferson County Joint Vocational School.

The health technologies program at the JVS is hosting the biannual event, along with the American Red Cross, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the program lab.

Instructor Tammy Sismondo said school and community members can participate, and walk-in service is available.

“We usually get 40-60 people depending on how many American Red Cross staff are available,” she said. “They can come in that day and register or register online. Our students can also register here.”

Donors must provide a photo ID, and those age 18 and under have certain weight and height requirements.

To pre-register, call (800) 733-2767 or go online to www.redcrossblood.org and enter JVS.
