Cell phone theft

STEUBENVILLE — A package containing eight cell phones valued at $4,000 was reported taken from the Fort Steuben Mall on Thursday, City Police reported.
A delivery driver was making a delivery to the mall office and left the package with the cell phones outside of the office, police reported.
The package was missing when the driver came out of the office, an officer said.
The box was found empty inside the women’s restroom, police reported.
FOLLANSBEE — The city’s Christmas tree lighting will be held at 5 p.m. Monday in the Ray Stoaks Plaza outside the City Building.
The Striplight Theatre will provide music, and Santa will meet with children. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served inside afterward.

STEUBENVILLE — Jefferson County Engineer James Branagan released the work schedule for county highway department crews for next week:
¯ Bridge replacement: Salem Township Road 136, closed about 0.64 mile from the intersection of county Road 39; county Road 7; county Road 75A; Mount Pleasant Township Road 129, which is closed 300 feet west of county Road 6; and Island Creek Township Road 371, which is closed 0.3 mile northeast of the intersection with township Road 370; and county Road 10.
¯ Slip repair: Costonia Road (county Road 56) is closed halfway between state Routes 7 and 213.
¯ Ditching and patching –Various county roads.
Road closings will be announced.
Toronto zoning board
to hold public hearing
TORONTO — The Toronto Board of Zoning Appeals will hold a public hearing at 10 a.m. on Dec. 12 at the City Building to consider an application for Eric Barnes Co. LLC (Margaret’s Cafe) at 805 North Fifth St.
All interested parties are invited to attend and may offer oral or written testimony.
