Gym closed for work at MLK Center
STEUBENVILLE — The Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation Center will be closed this week for the installation of a new HVAC system.
Hydrant testing continues in the city
STEUBENVILLE — The city fire department will be conducting fire hydrant testing, inspection and flow testing this week between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
According to Fire Chief Carlo Capaldi, the LaBelle Hilltop will be affected on Monday and Tuesday.
The Pleasant Heights neighborhood will be tested on Wednesday and Thursday. And hydrants on Lincoln Heights will be inspected on Friday.
Capaldi said water customers in those areas may experience reduced water pressure and a slight discoloration.
Health department sets flu shot schedule
STEUBENVILLE — The Jefferson County health department will be holding flu vaccine clinics at several locations in the county.
According to a health department press release the vaccines will be available on Wednesday from 9 until 10 a.m. at the Richmond Methodist Church, 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Amsterdam Municipal Building, 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Department.
On Oct. 11 the flu vaccine clinic will be held from 9 until 10 a.m. at the Wells Township Municipal Building, from 10:15 to to 11:15 a.m. at the Tiltonsville Mayor’s office, and from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Rayland Municipal Building.
The clinic will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Oct. 18 at the Unionport VFD Social Hall.
Flu shots will be given at the Toronto Health Department from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 3 p.m. every Wednesday at the Toronto Health Department.
Flu shots will be available at the health department nursing office at The Towers building from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursday.

STEUBENVILLE –The city parks and recreation department will offer free line dancing classes.
