Airport Openhouse 4 color

Elexis Martin, a Harding Middle School Aviation Club member, was one of several Steubenville City School District students participating in the Jefferson County Air Park open house Saturday. The open house continues from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today to highlight the modern air park since major upgrades were completed. According to Natalie Campana who mentors the Steubenville High School and Harding Middle School Aviation programs, there is a worldwide shortage of aviation professionals due to increased airline and business traffic. Visitors to the air park today can look at aircraft on display, talk to flight instructors and schedule airplane rides. Campana said young people can explore aviation as a career or a hobby. — Contributed
