Cast selected for ‘Wooden Heart Follies’

Preparation continues for this year’s edition of “Wooden Heart Follies.” The play, which has become a Christmas-season tradition in Steubenville, will be presented at 2 p.m. on Nov. 26, Dec. 3, Dec. 10 and Dec. 17 at the Masonic Temple, 227 N. Fourth St. The cast includes, front, Gemma Nelson (“Clara”); and, from left, first row, Therese Nelson (“Miss Nelson”), David Hahn (“Dave”), Michael Manocchia (“Soldier Mark”) and Nicole Janosco (“Miss Adelaide”); middle row, Jenna Johnson (“Artopoios, the Baker”), Garrett Gallaher (“The Nutcracker Prince”), Dustin Heavilin (“The Mad Scientist”) and Mary Beth Mascolino-Engle (“Vincenzo, the Gondolier”); and back row, Von Holmes, playwright and director and “The Narrator”; John Holmes, playwright, director and “Patrolman Holiday”; and Susanne Manocchia, vocal and music director and arranger. Also participating in the production are John Haynes Walker (“St. Nicholas”) and Emily Gray, accompanist and assistant music director. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students, with children under 6 admitted free.
