Delays expected on Route 7 south
STEUBENVILLE — Beginning Thursday some additional traffic delays are expected on state Route 7 north of Brilliant at the ongoing, $30 million hillside repair project.
ODOT’s contractor, Cast & Baker Corp. from Canonsburg, Pa., will be removing the remaining catchment wall through the work zone. To do so, southbound traffic will be stopped intermittently between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. in 15-minute intervals. This work is expected to be completed by Sept. 22.
Motorists are urged to plan ahead and use an alternate route to avoid delays.
The last blast on the project was to be set off on Tuesday, and all four lanes of Route 7 are expected to be reopened next spring.
